About the 340B Program:

The 340B Program is a special program offered through the Federal Government courtesy of the Health Resources and Services and Administration (HRSA) and the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA). This program is specially designed to offer low cost medications to the most vulnerable populations. The goal of the program is to reach more eligible patients and provide them with more comprehensive services.

Through this program, Arbor Family Health extends these discounted drugs to our patients in order to ensure they have access to their medications at the lowest cost available based on their financial and insurance status. We use a special sliding scale to ensure that medications are available and affordable— regardless of our patient’s financial or insurance status.

Arbor Family Health uses the savings from the 340B Program to reinvest back into our community by offering more comprehensive services and reaching as many people in our surrounding community as we can. The 340B Program is integrated into Arbor Family Health’s mission of providing care to patients regardless of their ability to pay.

If you may have any questions about how you may qualify for these savings, please contact us and we can assist you with the information that you should need to bring in to provide you the savings you may qualify for. DIRECT PHONE NUMBER: 225-395-1381.

Pharmacy specialties:

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Medications used in MAT are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and MAT programs are clinically driven and tailored to meet each patient’s needs.

Research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat these disorders, and for some people struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery. MAT is also used to prevent or reduce opioid overdose. Learn about many of the substance use disorders that MAT is designed to address.

MAT is primarily used for the treatment of addiction to opioids such as heroin and prescription pain relievers that contain opiates. The prescribed medication operates to normalize brain chemistry, block the euphoric effects of opioids, relieve physiological cravings, and normalize body functions without the negative and euphoric effects of the substance used.
