Prescriptions may be dropped off in person, but most are faxed or sent electronically by your physician.

For specialty medications, our team will contact you about one week before you run out to check how you’re doing, review side effects, connect you with a pharmacist if needed, and schedule your refill. We can also refill non-specialty medications at the same time.

If medication costs are a concern, our Patient Medication Assistance Program helps eligible patients receive medications at low or no cost.
We participate in the 340B Program, which lowers prescription costs based on income and eligibility under our sliding fee scale. This program supports access to medications for patients without prescription coverage who meet program requirements.
Our team will help determine if you qualify and assist with enrollment. Care Coordinators are available to answer questions about medications, insurance, and payment options.

We will transfer the prescription to another pharmacy and handle the process for you.

If it is financially beneficial, substitutions may be made unless your physician specifies otherwise.

The pharmacy is notified by the FDA or manufacturer and will contact you directly with instructions. You will be told whether to stop taking the medication and how to return it using provided packaging.

Injectable needles should be placed in the Sharps container provided. Contact your local parish or county government for pickup and disposal instructions.

Arbor Family Pharmacy will work to prevent interruptions to your medication. This may include early-fill overrides, courier delivery, or transferring your prescription to another pharmacy if needed.

Call the pharmacy directly. All complaints are investigated and resolved within 10 business days. Any confirmed error is addressed immediately, including medication replacement if needed.

Arbor Family Pharmacy works as an extension of your practice, providing coordinated support for your patients and your office. Our team manages insurance and billing, prior authorizations, medication counseling, side-effect management, financial assistance, and ongoing status updates.
We accept e-prescribing for all medications (NCPDP #1943403 | NPI 1790456499). Hard-copy prescriptions may be faxed toll free to 225-396-0666. For other prescription needs, fax the prescription with front and back copies of the patient’s benefit card. Within 24–48 hours, we verify benefits and follow up with both your office and the patient.
